DPM Metals marked Miners' Day together with the communities of Breza, Kakanj and Vareš through a series of events honouring the people who have shaped the region's mining heritage.

The programme began with visits to kindergartens in all three towns, where children welcomed the DPM Metals team with drawings, smiles and short performances prepared for the occasion. The company also presented symbolic gifts to the kindergartens as a contribution to the everyday learning and development of future generations.

Ceremonial academies in Breza, Kakanj and Vareš brought together miners, retirees, families, young people, community representatives and company colleagues. The programmes included the miners' and national anthems, recitations, addresses by municipal and company representatives, and musical performances by the Amira Medunjanin Trio.

Across all three communities, the events reflected a shared respect for miners and for the courage, skill and solidarity associated with their work. Speaking about the significance of the day, DPM Metals Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Iliya Garkov emphasised that mining is inseparable from the identity, families and history of mining communities.

Miners' Day connects generations and reminds us that every operation is built on people. We thank the communities of Breza, Kakanj and Vareš, all partners involved in the programme, and miners past and present whose dedication continues to shape the region. Their work and legacy remain an important guide for how we approach the future.
