DPM Metals has supported a major road upgrade in the local community of Mir, delivered in partnership with the Municipality of Vareš and local contractors.
Representatives of the Mir Local Community, the Municipality of Vareš, DPM Metals, the Zenica-Doboj Canton and local contractors gathered on 23 July 2026 to mark key works improving access to the village and the Ožega sports and recreation centre.
The principal upgrade covered the 2.32-kilometre road from Bijelo Borje to Lipa and Mir. The Municipality of Vareš financed 900 metres, while DPMetals BH financed the remaining 1.42 kilometres. City Transport, a Vareš-based company, completed the works.
A separate project improved the access road from Mir to the Ožega sports and recreation centre. Approximately 300 metres of the planned 400-metre section had been concreted. The Municipality financed the project documentation, the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton provided financial support, and local contractor Mladen Šimić delivered the works.
The improvements make everyday travel easier, support access to community facilities and create better conditions for visitors. They also show what practical partnerships and local businesses can achieve. We remain committed to initiatives that deliver lasting community value.
