We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact at every stage of the mining lifecycle, and to leaving the Vareš region better than we found it.
Our Commitments

We operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and align our environmental and social management practices with relevant international standards, including the IFC Performance Standards and EBRD Performance Requirements.

The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment provides a structured understanding of the local environmental and social context and identifies measures to avoid, minimize, mitigate or, where appropriate, compensate for potential impacts.

Our Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) turns those commitments into day-to-day practice, with clear senior-management responsibility and Board oversight.

We carry out regular environmental monitoring, including air, water and soil quality, biodiversity, dust, noise, vibration and energy use, and use the findings to inform operational controls and improvement measures.

We actively remediate environmental legacy issues from historical mining in our host communities.

WATER
Water matters to everyone in the region. We manage our use efficiently, monitor quality upstream and downstream of the operation, and design our facilities to protect local watercourses.
BIODIVERSITY
We monitor and manage our impact on habitats and species around our operations, and support the restoration of areas affected by historical mining.
CLIMATE & ENERGY
We work to reduce the energy intensity and emissions of our operation, applying modern technology and continuous improvement.
TAILINGS & WASTE
Our tailings and waste facilities are engineered, monitored and audited to international standards.
